To mark World Lupus Day 2025 which is also the 10th Anniversary of the World Lupus Federation, a team led by Emma Danso, A.K.A. Sweetness, the Executive Director of Oyemam Autoimmune Foundation, made a presentation to Bishop Dr. Charles Cofie Hackman, the Chief Executive Office of H4P Organization and the host of the Helping Hand TV Show, to appreciate him for being supportive of Lupus Awareness Campaign in Ghana and for helping to make lupus visible. The present was a plaque with the theme for this year’s lupus awareness day; “Make Lupus Visible”.

Lupus is described as an inflammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks its own tissues. Lupus is an autoimmune disease that can affect the joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs. Symptoms vary but can include fatigue, joint pain, rash and fever.

Lupus is quite common in Ghana but with low awareness. This unfortunately includes health care providers and workers. As a result, victims are misdiagnosed. The Lupus Awareness Campaign therefore aims at Making Lupus Visible.
